I ask myself. Is this Shakespeare
we all love.?
It cannot be.So much is lost in the frightful cross -casting.Like a mask that hides
the truth of all
who witness it.
Like someone has rewritten the text and repainted the Mona Lisa to fit the bill.

The original is already loader with sexual ambiguity which is now ruined by cross-gender casting. In Shakespeare’s time the women were played by men, which was part of the ambiguity and fun. The women in this production do a great job, but overall it’s as flat as a provincial pantomime.
